Dear Parishioners,
The Gospel reading for this Sunday is a continuation of last Sunday's reading. Jesus preaches at the synagogue in Nazareth after reading from the prophet Isaiah. The people who listened to him, knew him and his family. Jesus was the son of Joseph, the carpenter. They could not accept that the words of the prophet Isaiah could be applied to Jesus, one of them. So they decided to do away with him. This foreshadows the ultimate fate of Jesus: his crucifixion and his death. In the Gospels we read that Jesus was not able to perform any miracles in his home town, Nazareth, because of their lack of faith. God continues to work miracles in our lives only if we have faith, only if we believe in the power of Jesus.
The Second graders from our Religious Education Program will be having their First Reconciliation on February 6, Saturday at 10:00 am. Please remember them in your prayers
Yours Sincerely,
Fr. Jose Shaji, Pastor
