Dear Parishioners,
This weekend we celebrate the Baptism of Jesus. With this celebration we end the season of Christmas. And with Jesus' Baptism, he begins his public life. Jesus begins his ministry of preaching, evangelizing and healing. The Baptism of Jesus reminds us of our own Baptism. What happened at the Baptism of Jesus happened at our own Baptism. When we were baptized God called us by name. He said to each one of us, "You are my beloved daughter, you are my beloved son." And the Holy Spirit descended on us. We are invited to reflect on our Baptism And Christ invites us to share and participate in his mission.
This Sunday, January 10, our Confirmation students will be making a retreat at Vallombrosa from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm as part of their Confirmation preparation program. Let us accompany them with our prayers.
